It's the final day of the 26th London Art Fair today, with more than 120 galleries exhibiting art at the Business Design Centre in Islington. Sure, it's just a showcase for artworks that none of us can afford, but the fact that some people can afford them and that artists' works for sale continue to inspire such demand is surely one of the countless positive aspects of our city. Better to buy a work of art that someone has had to think about than another bigger telly.
Once you've paid your hefty entrance fee, you can look forward to tours of the fair from the likes of the Sotheby's Institute of Art or critic and curator Pryle Behrman, or just idly browse the works yourself and presumably take amusement from the fact that all efforts to sell them are being made to those dressed better than you.
