Please do address your emails "Dear Tom", "Hi Tom" etc, as this helps quickly & easily work out which emails are from a real person and which have come via a PR database, or are blind copied to a long list of people. The former are generally much more effective.

Sadly, it is no longer possible to reply to all emails. Generally most of them are read, but billions of emails are now sent every day, and if you send an unsolicited email and / or you're being paid to flog something, you're becoming less less likely to receive a response.

It also seems to be the norm for PR people to tell people insincerely how much you love their websites. If they didn't teach you that in PR school you should ask for your money back.
